Who is EDC?
EDC is South Floridas only regional entrepreneurial support organization. With an exclusive focus on early stage science and technology companies, EDC is a nonprofit organization that leverages its vast resource network to provide companies the tools they need in order to grow and succeed.
Through a community of hundreds of professionals passionate about creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem, EDC provides mentoring and business incubation to new and existing high-growth potential companies. EDC has helped entrepreneurs across multiple industries, accelerating their growth and creating a vibrant, innovation-based economy in our region. Founded in 1994, EDC assists over 300 companies annually and has
achieved an overall economic is in excess of $500 million.
EDC offers a variety of programs to accelerate new company creation and growth:
- BusinessLINC mentor/protégé program and online community
- Introductions to capital through local angel networks and funds
- Management of the C. Scott Ellington Technology Business Incubator in Boca Raton and Incubate Miami in downtown Miami
- Production of two annual conferences and meetings that provide visibility and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs:
EDC also participates in specific statewide programs that enhance the creation and development of science and technology companies, and supports other local organizations with monthly programming. As a clearinghouse for entrepreneurial activity, EDC engages with local business leaders, investors, colleges and universities, government entities, and other public and private groups that share a commitment to Floridas economic vitality.
