Boca Raton, FL –  The Enterprise Development Corporation of South Florida, (EDC), a public/private partnership specializing in providing business development services to emerging science and technology companies, announced today that Joyce Vonada, CIO of AutoNation, and John Staten, CFO of DayJet will each be speaking at its upcoming ninth Annual Emerging Technology Business Showcase (ETBS), taking place on Friday November 3, 2006, at the Westin Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. Ms. Vonada will discuss “A Day in the Life of a CIO,” while Mr. Staten will talk about how DayJet is shaping the market for a new approach to regional business travel, and how the company has achieved significant milestones since its founding in 2002.

“EDC’s annual showcase provides young companies throughout the region with an opportunity to present their companies before an audience of business professionals, investors and others who are committed to South Florida’s science and technology community,” stated Jane Teague, EDC Executive Director. “We are focused on providing entrepreneurs with access to local business leaders who they may otherwise not have a chance to meet, and are delighted that Ms. Vonada and Mr. Staten share our commitment to help South Florida companies get to the next level.”

ETBS is sponsored by local industry and academia in support of South Florida’s emerging science and technology community. For the ninth consecutive year, business owners, service providers, investors and research and development organizations will gather to strengthen and develop key alliances in the local community.
