EDC of South Florida Executive Director receives "Quiet Storm" Award

Jane Teague, executive director of the Enterprise Development Corporation of South Florida (EDC), was recently honored by IN FOCUS Magazine with the “Quiet Storm Achiever’s Award.”  Teague was presented with the award at IN FOCUS’ 5th Annual Women’s Power Caucus awards luncheon at the Fort Lauderdale Hyatt Regency Pier 66 on August 25. 

 

 

The mission of the Annual Women’s Power Caucus is to empower, inspire and connect progressive women through building powerful support networks. The Quiet Storm Awards recognize excellence in leadership in categories such as business, entrepreneurship, healthcare and diversity.

 

 

EDC is a non profit organization that each year, assists nearly 200 emerging science and technology companies throughout South Florida . In her role as Executive Director, Teague is responsible for overseeing EDC’s mentor/protégé program, the Technology Business Incubator, annual EDC conferences, fundraising and other programs that EDC runs in support of the emerging local science and technology community.

 

 

Teague is a member of the Board of Directors of the InternetCoast (iCoast) and is a member of the FAU College of Engineering Advisory Council. She also participates with organizations such as BioFlorida’s South Florida BioScience Consortium, the MIT Enterprise Forum, the Florida Venture Forum and Enterprise Florida ’s Technology, Entrepreneurship and Capital Council. Additionally, she is a frequent guest speaker at Florida Atlantic University on topics such as entrepreneurship and venture capital.
