The Enterprise Development Corporation of South Florida, (EDC), a public/private partnership that provides assistance to emerging science and technology companies, announced today that Mike Levy, founder and CEO of OPEN Sports Network, Inc. will deliver the morning keynote address at its annual conference taking place on November 13, 2009. The conference will be held at the Hilton Hotel and features presentations by 12 of South Florida's most exciting new companies, as well as panel discussions on topics that are of importance to today's entrepreneurs.

Prior to launching OPEN Sports, Mr. Levy was the Founder and CEO of SportsLine.com, Inc., a leading sports media company and publisher of CBS SportsLine.com, NFL.com, PGA Tour.com and NCAA Sports.com.  Founded in February, 1994, SportsLine was listed on NASDAQ from November, 1997 through December, 2004 when it was acquired by CBS.

"A prolific inventor and serial entrepreneur, Mr. Levy is an ideal speaker for our conference this year," stated Jane Teague, EDC executive director. "As EDC celebrates its 15th anniversary, we look forward to Mr. Levy's comments on how he started and grew new companies in South Florida, as well as insight into new technologies that are changing how we live and work."

ETBS is sponsored by local industry and academia in support of South Florida's emerging science and technology community. For the fifth consecutive year, the Gold Coast Venture Capital Association is co-sponsoring the event as investors, business owners, service providers, and research and development organizations gather to strengthen and develop key alliances in the local community.  More information and a complete agenda can be found at www.edc-tech.org.
