ETBS is South Florida's premier event for science and technology startups who convene for one day to preview 12 - 15 of the most promising young companies in our region, and participate in meaningful networking opportunities throughout the day. This year for the first time we are partnering with the Florida Economic Gardening Institute (FEGI) to include a track for second-stage companies, those companies who are generating $1 - $25 million in revenue and who employ 10-50 employees. Economic Gardening was pioneered by Chris Gibbons in 1989 in the city of Littleton, Colorado. It is an innovative entrepreneur-centered economic growth strategy that was launched in Florida in 2009 with funding from the Florida Legislature, and offers companies that have grown beyond the startup phase a suite of high-end, high-speed technical assistance and business tools. Now in its 13th year, ETBS will provide both 1st and 2nd stage entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors and service providers a venue to learn about the latest advances in science and technology, hear from industry veterans who have started and grown successful companies, and discover new partnership opportunities.
Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum sponsorship opportunities are available. Click here for details.

This year's featured keynote speaker is Mr. Michael Margolies, Founder & CEO, Littlebanc. Mr. Margolies founded Littlebanc to provide Wall Street investment banking services to small companies. With over 25 years of Wall Street experience, he brings extensive expertise and deep relationships with many of Wall Street’s most influential professionals. Prior to founding Littlebanc, Mr. Margolies was a Managing Director of Ladenburg Thalmann & Co., Inc. where he led the firm’s PIPE practice. In 1995 Mr. Margolies saw an opportunity to provide hedge funds and financial institutions with unbiased research and founded Avalon Research Group, Inc., based in the Florida Atlantic Research & Development Park and one of Wall Street’s top-rated independent research companies with over 100 hedge fund and mutual fund clients. Mr. Margolies was also a founding member of Investorside Research Association, a non-profit trade association of investment research providers not engaging in investment banking. He served as Chairman & CEO of Avalon Research Group, Inc., until 2004 when the company was acquired by London-based trade publisher, Metal Bulletin. Prior to founding Avalon, Mr. Margolies managed long/short discretionary accounts for M.A. Berman & Co., a boutique money management and brokerage firm with more than $500 million under management.
